Kyle Brady's 72nd minute strike against a much improved Darlaston side was enough to see Wulfs progress to the quarter finals of the League Cup.
Manager Tim Tipton made two changes from the previous game with Ade Bandele replacing Ricky Anslow up front and the returning Stewart Mason coming in for the unavailable Mark Tipton at the back.
The first half proved to be a fairly even affair possession wise but it was Wulfs who created the majority of the chances.
The first came in the 7th minute when Natty Lawson sent in a low cross from the left that just eluded the outstretched leg of Ade Bandele at the far post.
Kyle Brady and Myles Fenn then both fired over from the edge of the area before Brady went close again with a shot that deflected just wide of the post.
Darlaston's first real sight of goal came in the 34th minute when Danny Yearwood skipped past his man on the left before firing over whilst under pressure from a Joe Williams challenge.
The second half saw Wulfs step up a gear and they went close just six minutes in when Kyle Brady led a quick break to run half the length of the pitch before seeing his shot saved by the keepers outstretched toe.
Myles Fenn then saw his header across goal roll agonisingly wide while at the other end, Stuart Hillman did well to beat three defenders before shooting over.
Kyle Brady was really testing the Darlaston back line and had a good chance when he burst past the last man before firing over with just the keeper to beat.
The same player then fired in a shot from the edge of the area which the keeper pushed wide for a corner but this led to Wulfs taking a 72nd minute lead. The corner was cleared out to Natty Lawson and he returned it to the feet of Kyle Brady on the edge of the area and he produced a fine turn and dug out a left foot shot which darted into the top corner of the net.
Brady again went close in the 79th minute when he cut in from the right before seeing his shot well saved by keeper Todd Henderson.
In the end one goal proved enough to see Wulfs through to the quarter finals.
